Growing Food, Growing Community
Gaining Ground, a nonprofit organic farm in Concord, Massachusetts, grows vegetables and fruit with the help of several thousand community volunteers and donates all of this fresh food to area meal programs and food pantries.
In response to the pandemic, we have modified our volunteer program this season. Click here for details.
Gaining Ground exists because of Jamie Bemis’ visionary idea to start an organic farm dedicated to community, hunger relief and volunteerism. We are deeply saddened by her passing and extend our sympathies to her family and friends.

Curious about how we now farm to grow twice as much food for hunger relief? Farm Manager Doug Wolcik tells the story of Gaining Ground and its transition to no-till farming on this highly respected podcast, No-Till Growers.
