As of February 2024:
  • 17.9% of Massachusetts households report food insecurity, while the rate is 22.9% among households with children.
  • BIPOC families with children are recovering more slowly from the pandemic. From August 2023 to January 2024, about 30% of Black households and 34.5% of Latinx households facing food insecurity, compared to 19.3% of white households.
  • SNAP enrollment in Massachusetts continues to rise, with 1,064,016 people and 646,644 households in Massachusetts receiving SNAP.
