As of September 2024:
  • 18.4% of Massachusetts households report food insecurity, while the rate is 21.5% among households with children.
  • BIPOC families with children are recovering more slowly from the pandemic. In 2024, about 33.3% of Black households and 34.5% of Latinx households faced food insecurity, compared to 17.2% of white households.
  • SNAP enrollment in Massachusetts continues to rise, with 1,067,778 people and 653,855 households in Massachusetts receiving SNAP.
