Growing Food, Growing Community

Who We Are

Founded in 1994, Gaining Ground is a nonprofit, no-till organic farm in Concord, MA growing food exclusively for hunger relief. Everything we grow is distributed free of charge, typically within 24 hours of harvest, through partnerships with more than 16 shelters, food pantries, and mutual aid groups. By practicing regenerative agriculture, we steward the land to build soil health, climate resilience, and a more sustainable future for generations to come.

At Gaining Ground, we believe access to nutritious produce necessary for a healthy life is a human right, not a privilege.

Our Impact

In 2024, we grew and donated 138,700 pounds of fresh produce to more than 10,000 people across 40+ towns, including Boston, Lowell, and the MetroWest. This work was powered by over 3,800 volunteers who gave more than 7,500 hours of labor. With many helping hands, we farmed on 6.5 acres, including an expansion plot in the Minute Man National Historical Park, using regenerative, no-till practices.
