Long-time Partner, Bedford Food Pantry
The Bedford Community Table/Pantry was started in 1991 by the Grey family, who had participated in the Walk for Hunger for ten years prior to organizing the pantry. Now the organization is open every Thursday and, during the school year, offers a free community dinner.
We are a strictly volunteer organization with no paid staff and are funded by donations from Bedford residents and local businesses.
Every Thursday, we distribute supplemental bags of non-perishables to individuals and families who have demonstrated a need for assistance. During the summer months we also offer a variety of fresh vegetables, donated to us by Gaining Ground. Our clients look forward to the vegetables and the variety offered. The vegetables are picked up each Thursday by Robert Pespisa, a local plumber, who stops work on that day in order to deliver the produce.
Again we are strictly a volunteer organization, and anyone interested in joining us as a volunteer can contact us by email or by calling us at 781-275-7355.
