Community Partner: Foundation for Metrowest

Each year, Gaining Ground relies on numerous long-standing partnerships to ensure our success. Foundation for Metrowest, based in Natick, Mass., has been a partner for almost ten years. It provides much-needed philanthropic support, as well as professional development programing.

When I was hired as Gaining Ground’s first executive director, I applied to participate in Leading with Ease: Secrets of Sustainable Leadership, a course that provides guidance on a balanced approach to nonprofit leadership. This program was a great way to get started in my new role: It helped me shape a new perspective of my role and introduced me to other executive directors with varying levels of experience—a group that I still lean on when I need advice or a different perspective.

For many years, Gaining Ground has received philanthropic support from the MetroWest Hunger Relief Fund, which is dedicated to combating hunger and poverty within our region. This fund has provided support for our general operating budget as well as capital projects, including support for our newest hoop house.

As we begin our 27th growing season, I continue to be inspired by the level of support by partners like the Foundation for Metrowest, whose mission is to serve as a resource for local nonprofits and improve the quality of life for residents.

Thank you to all of our community partners and we look forward to working with you in 2019.
