Many Thanks!

The Board and Staff would like to express our sincere gratitude to all those supporters who have given generously and shared their time and talents with Gaining Ground through the winter and early spring in 2016. Special thanks go to:

  • Jeff Clements, Bouke Noordzij, and David Outerbridge for loading, unloading, and stacking all that wood for our sugaring operation
  • Concord Free Public Library, for including us in their children’s sugaring demonstration and providing space for a Gaining Ground display throughout March
  • Jen Flint, for writing a Concord Journal article about the children’s sugaring demonstration at the Concord Free Public Library
  • Jen Flint, Melissa McBride, Holly Salemy, and Lisanne Wheeler, for being members of the committee organizing the barn celebration
  • David Outerbridge, for helping us re-organize our equipment and supplies into the new barn spaces
  • Landa Rigali and Jim Curran, for donating two cords of split wood for next year’s maple sugaring
  • Thoreau Farm Trust, for putting up with our construction project
  • Dick Waters, for helping to install the floors in the barn

A special thank you to Kristin Moore:

  • Kristin, who has been our Office & Fund Raising Manager for five years, has taken a new position in Boston. Kristin brought myriad skills to her varied roles and played a major role in Gaining Ground’s growth during her tenure. She upgraded our use of technology, meticulously ordered our books, crafted effective grants, and made a mean Concord grape tart. We will miss her, but look forward to seeing her tending the beehives on the farm this season.
